The Forgotten | The African Middle Class

Did you know that according to UN figures more than ninety percent of all Africans live neither in war nor crisis-areas? The economic growth rates of some African countries are among the largest worldwide. Most of this has been attributed to the increase in the emerging of the middle class. In this photo essay by Miguel Hang and Jan-Cristoph Hartung, The Forgotten seeks to presents visual examples of a very real middle class.
