These are two of my favourite art pieces by Miles Davis who was a self-taught artist. As an avid jazz listener, I'm delighted to see how Davis' creativity is also expressed in his artwork. It makes me think about how artist is distinguished by the messages he/she wishes to convey and not entirely by the mediums used. The focus is on what the artist has to express and that can happen in many different ways.
